Propeller typically steps in when firms outgrow basic bookkeeping and start to require more sophisticated financial planning and analysis but can’t yet rationalize the hiring of 2-3 full-time people to manage all of it. We’re responsible for everything a full-time CFO would manage and we use outside CPA firms to do income tax and/or audit work. This keeps us focused on building the business while giving you one point of accountability — just as you would have with a full-time CFO. As the company scales, we’ll help you hire full-time financial staff and gradually phase ourselves out (that typically takes 3-5 years). Until then, whether it’s defending the financial plan in board meetings or processing payables, we can handle everything.
Rise from Within
Committed to DE&I
Perks & Benefits
At Propeller, we continually strive to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion in all facets of our business and community. We believe that it’s our differences that make us stronger. As a company, we make it a priority to ensure that we are creating a culture of inclusivity and diversity through our hiring practices, Employee Resource Groups, and training—all supported by our dedicated DE&I committee. These initiatives make sure all voices are heard and represented within the organization.
Beyond our work internally, we have partnered with several organizations in our community that believe in creating a more diverse, equitable, and inclusive business environment. This year, Propeller has joined forces with Natually Austin and SKU to support M/O, a program that accelerates diverse founders through education, mentorship, and growth opportunities. In addition, we proudly partnered with the Empower Project, a competition that aims to help Black-owned businesses take the next step by providing them with expert mentors and business services. Our team was able to support by donating pro bono finance and accounting services to the winner!
GROW WITH US
We’ve been doubling in size about every two years, and that’s created a lot of career growth internally. We’ve hired and retained great talent, and that lets us promote from within whenever possible.
WE’RE LIFELONG LEARNERS
We believe in the power of learning and learning from each other. We have monthly “PropAcademies” where anyone can present on a fun accounting or finance topic of their choosing.
WE GIVE BACK
We care about making a difference and are always coordinating volunteer activities throughout the year. It helps us get closer to our local communities and each other.
Our service model is built around a secure, cloud-based, technology ecosystem that leverages best-in-class solutions like paperless A/P, electronic routing, approvals & payments, and online payroll management & expense reporting. We’ve packaged this experience into a cost-effective model so early-stage companies can afford the information they need, when they need it most. We don’t require monthly minimums or long-term contracts because we know our clients’ business is dynamic–we’re here to help navigate uncertainty, not increase risk.
